Toulouse

Toulouse is known as "La Ville Rose"," the pink town" due to the colour of bricks traditionally used in its' construction over the centuries. It is one of Europe's leading centres for technology and is divided into different zones:

• The Roman town - characterised by narrow, winding streets, little changed until the Middle Ages.
• The Mediaeval City - enclosed within its own city walls.
• Suburban development during the 18th and 19th centuries.
• Modern Toulouse - continuing into the future using current building techniques.
